Jalapeño Popper Pasta Salad with Ultimate White Cheese Sauce

Jalapeño Popper Pasta Salad recipe

Ingredients

  • 70 ounces (23 1/3 cups) | Whole grain elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 (106-ounce) pouch | Land O Lakes® Ultimate White Cheese Sauce
  • 26 ounces (3 1/4 cups) | Canned diced jalapeño peppers, drained
  • 8 ounces (1 cup) | Water
  • 2 teaspoons | Garlic powder
  • 11 1/2 ounces (2 2/3 cups) | Cooked turkey bacon, diced
  • 3 ounces (1 cup) | Green onions, sliced

Preparation

STEP 1

Cook macaroni to al dente according to manufacturer's instruction. Drain.

STEP 2

Combine Ultimate White Cheese Sauce, jalapeños, water and garlic powder in large bowl. Stir until well combined.

STEP 3

Add macaroni, turkey bacon and green onions to sauce mixture; toss to combine. Cover pasta until ready to portion.

STEP 4

Refrigerate immediately.

CCP: Maintain cold food at 41°F or below

STEP 5

To serve, portion two #6 scoops salad into desired container. Best if consumed within 24 hours of preparation.

CCP: Maintain hot food at 140°F or above


Recipe Tips

Tip #1

Include 3/4 cup carrots and/or 1/2 cup fruit from your inventory to make this a reimbursable meal.

Tip #2

Pasta type will affect viscosity of the pasta salad. If the pasta salad is too tight, add milk or water to loosen. If a creamier salad is desired, cut pasta amount in half for a 1 M/MA and 1 oz. eq. grain recipe. Note this will affect nutrition.

Tip #3

Serve with a whole grain roll for additional grain. Add popcorn chicken for additional M/MA or top with LAND O LAKES® Mild Cheddar Cheese Cubes for additional meatless M/MA.
