Buttermilk Pie with Cream Sauce Base

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces (4 large) | Whole egg, lightly beaten
  • 6 ounces | Buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons | Vanilla extract
  • 1 (10 inch) each | Pre-baked pie shell

Preparation

STEP 1

Heat oven to 300°F.

STEP 2

Combine sugar, flour and salt. Whisk in Cream Sauce Base until smooth.  Whisk in eggs, buttermilk and vanilla until smooth.

STEP 3

Pour mixture into pre-baked pie crust. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes until set or knife comes out almost clean. Cool to room temperature before covering and refrigerating.
