Daniel "Billy" Kalil

Biography

Chef Billy has been in the foodservice industry for more than 17 years, with experience in fine dining, catering and retail foodservice. In 2013, he went back to school and received a bachelor’s degree in food science from the University of Minnesota. He went on to join the Land O’ Lakes R&D team in 2017 and in 2019 he joined the Land O’ Lakes Culinary Center.

What are you most passionate about?

I am passionate about restaurants and food, and strive to find solutions that make the kitchen life easier.

What is a piece of advice or insight you want to share with operators?

I hope to help the foodservice industry bounce back from the one of the biggest challenges it has ever faced. Luckily, the industry is full of some of the most inventive and resilient people in the world!
